Women in Business monthly lunchtime networking programs provide Delaware County career women a schedule-friendly opportunity for expansion of professional circles during the lunch hour of a busy work day. Women meet and connect with other professional women, entrepreneurs, and business owners over a complimentary luncheon buffet in a featured Member location each month. The Athena Leadership Award
For over 25 years, the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce has presented the Athena Leadership Award to a Delaware County woman who is honored for professional excellence, community service and for actively assisting women in their attainment of professional excellence and leadership skills. The Athena Leadership Award was inspired by the goddess of Greek mythology known for her strength, courage, wisdom and enlightenment - qualities embodied in the Athena Leadership honorees. Since the program's inception in 1982, more than 6,500 exemplary leaders in over 500 communities have received the prestigious Athena Award in the United States.
The Delaware County Women's Commission
The Chamber's Women in Business group supports the work of the Delaware County Women's Commission. The Commission’s purpose is to evaluate the concerns and needs of women and girls residing in Delaware County and making recommendations to the County Council as to how to meet those concerns and needs. The members of the Commission will serve together as the decision making body with respect to actions needed to fulfill its mandate. The Commissioners are responsible for setting policies that guide the operation of its task forces, committees, and coalitions. The Commission will work toward the advancement of Delaware County women and girls.
